“..it was less money and less disruptive than we thought it would be.”

“We were concerned that it would cost too much money and that it would be very disruptive.  A loft conversion by its very nature it’s always going to cause some disruption, but it was less money and less disruptive than we thought it would be.

We used John because he was local; we knew of him and had recommendations from other people.  I think it’s really good to use local people and he had a positive long established reputation from people that I knew.  He was cheaper than the other quote we had too and we were able to visit other lofts that he had done.

He provided a very straight forward service, didn’t go over budget and was very clean and tidy.

The best thing is the stairs; we think the stairs are amazing. Just being able to go to Johns’ house and see the stairs being built, you could really see the detail and the hand crafted work that went into them.  It’s good to know those are hand built stairs, using traditional carpentry methods.  And although the fitting wasn’t straight forward, John took care of it and they look amazing! The plastering under the stairs, (not simple or straightforward) done by DCR Plastering, is first class, again testament to the team John has around him.

And also the book cases that John did, they add that real special touch.

We would absolutely recommend John and already have done. We would happily show potential customers our loft if required. Our house value has increased significantly as a result of the new bedroom and en-suite bathroom, it was definitely money well spent!

One last thing, we knew John and his team weren’t homophobic, and that’s important for us.”
